Day 5 and Day 6 got kind of blurred together with the
overnight in the bus!
After a nice breakfast and resting yesterday, we went down to the market. They are doing some remodeling in the market
so things aren’t where we expected them.
Oh well, just more exploring! One
of the highlights was the chocolate place.
They demonstrate the process from raw beans, to roasting, to grinding,
to EATING! Lots of varieties; some with
vanilla, some with cinnamon, some with almonds, some with 60, 70 or 80% cacao. For me, sitting down to enjoy a cup of hot
chocolate was the best part.
The teachers are camped out in the zoocolo so it is crowded
and covered with tents and blue plastic tarps.
I didn’t take any pictures of that……Maybe you’ll see some pictures in a later
post. It didn’t keep us from enjoying
dinner at one of our favorite restaurants that overlooks the zoocolo. Yo was happy to get his crickets to eat. They came with guacamole. No one else was quite as thrilled about
them!
I’m realizing that I’m not taking enough pictures! None in the market yesterday or today. Melodie, where are you when I need you!?
I think this finishes up Day 6……..
Wish I were there! I wouldn't have been thrilled about the crickets, though! But you know me, if it's weird, I'll try it!!
